Lode Violet

Lode Violet (Besson Artist & Alliance Artist) was born in Jette in 1995 and started his cornet training at the age of six at the GO! Academy for Music & Word Willebroek. A year later he added piano to this. At the age of 14, Lode followed his teacher/father Frans Violet to the Kunsthumaniora Brussels. He graduated there with ‘Greatest Distinction’. In 2017 he obtained the Master of Arts degree in music at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp for main subject Cornet with Frans Violet, two years later he obtained a diploma from the Specific Teacher Training Music. He currently teaches Brass and Group Music in the DKO at the GO! Academy for Music & Word Willebroek and since 2019 he has also been affiliated with the Kunsthumaniora Brussels as a teacher of Brass/Brass Band. In September 2020 he started at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp in his new position as Main Subject Teacher Saxhorn.

As a cornetist, Lode is active in various orchestras and regularly performs as a soloist. He has been a guest with various bands in Europe & the United States of America. Since 2011, he has been the Principal Cornet of Brassband Willebroek, where he has won 8 national titles, a European title and two world titles. It is no secret to say that Lode can no longer keep track of his prizes and awards.

The composer in Lode started at the age of 19. He wrote an opening work Sång till Norden for Brassband Willebroek at the gala concert of the Swedish Brass Band Championships 2015, the work has often excelled as a winning performance at competitions.

Since 2017, Lode also started a career as a conductor, and this start is not bad: Young Brassband Willebroek became Belgian champion twice (3rd division & 2nd division) and achieved a first place in 1st division at the Flemish Open Brass Band Championships. With Mercator Brassband he also won the Dutch Open Brass Band Championships in 2nd division. In 2020 he started as conductor of Brassband St.-Cecilia Leest.
