Thibaut De Bondt

Thibaut De Bondt is a student at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, where he is part of the brass section.

His interest in music started early: at the age of 6 he started at the Academy for Music and Word in Willebroek.

He started with the cornet with Frans Violet - conductor of Brassband Willebroek - before switching to the baritone, the instrument that eventually stole his heart. He was taught by both Frans Violet and Jonas Violet, and in 2020 he started his education at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, where he is developing under the guidance of Kevin Van Giel and Lode Violet.

He is currently working on his Educational Master there, to share his passion by teaching.

He is currently part of the teaching team at the academies of Willebroek, Brasschaat and Mortsel.

He started at Brassband Willebroek and plays first baritone there.

In 2022 he took part in the Gran Premio Povoletto, where he took second place, and in 2023 he became the winner of the European Soloist Competition.
